Preserving Life
A 'Vigorous' Beginning for N.Va. Preemie
Girl Doing Well After Birth By Brain-Dead Woman

Although this story stands in bold defiance of it, I am continually dumb-founded by the inconsistencies of our anti-life culture. Here we have two people who, had they been in a different situation, would have been considered worthless and disposable. Mrs. Torres, unlike Mrs. Schaivo who merely needed a feeding tube, was utterly dependent on full life support for months. Her 17 week old "fetus", like all those murdered every day through "legal" abortion, was kept alive by her brain-dead mother through the willingness of her father to patiently wait and sustain profound medical costs. Mr. Torres was not waiting for his daughter to become human; he preserved her life because she already was human and has been since the very first moment of her existence. Every single one of her peers, some murdered, some not, have this same innate value, yet are still considered "optional". I cannot imagine the pain this father went through to say goodbye to his wife's body long after she was able to hear him. What a peaceful, yet painful, moment that must have been, but it was a truly dignified, natural close to her physical life. She did what she was created to do until the end: she gave life. A stunning contrast to the starvation death of Mrs. Schaivo, by the will of her unfaithful husband accompliced by the courts of the United States and numerous medical "experts".
Sadly, this story will probably pass over the nation without a ripple.
